One Minute Curl Up Test of Core Strength

Here is a group of people performing a one-minute sit up test. They are using the technique of having their hands on their thighs, and sliding them up to their knees. Having the hands like this is a much more controlled method of doing the sit up, compared to some other methods where there is a lot of bouncing and erratic movements.

Here is a group of students performing the one minute sit up test. They are using the technique of having their feet held down (using something attached to the wall) and their arms across their chest. As you can see, it can be difficult to see what is a valid sit up, and also the erratic movements are potentially dangerous.

Here is Mark Pfeltz setting a world record for sit ups. Mark Pfeltz of Baltimore, Maryland set the Guinness Book Of World Records for the maximum number of sit ups in 1986, completing 45,005 in 58.5hrs. As with these records there is a five minute break allowed every hour
