New Balance Test for NHL Combine – Y Balance
June 7th, 2015 · No Comments · Balance, Ice Hockey
A new balance test was added to the NHL Combine in 2015, called the Y Balance Test. This test is a dynamic test performed in a single-leg stance that requires strength, flexibility, core control and proprioception. This is the latest in a series of balance and core stability type tests that they have trialed over the years. It looks like a pretty complex test to perform, but seems a good objective measure of balance. Previously they have used a balance board, single-leg squats and a Hex Agility test (like the like the hexagon test). See more about the Y Balance Test.

Indo Board Balance Training
August 23rd, 2011 · No Comments · Balance, Equipment, Surfing
This is an official Indo Board Video, show Indo Board President, Hunter Joslin, on the DBZ Show demonstrating all his tricks. The Indo Board is great for improving your balance, particularly if you are a surfer. As one commenter said, a piece of wood and pvc pipe could also do the trick, but it would not look as good. See more about the Indo Board.
