In 2023, Victoria pulled out of hosting the 2026 Commonwealth Games. A year later, Glasgow was announced as the new host

The XXIII (23rd) Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Glasgow also hosted the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The event will be held from 23 July to 2 August, 2026

There will be 10 sports (reduced from 19 at the previous Commonwealth Games)

Trivia

• Two new countries which joined the Commonwealth in 2022 are expected to make their debut in 2026, Gabon and Togo.
• The two other cities to have hosted Commonwealth Games more than once are Auckland (1950, 1990) and Edinburgh (1970, 1986).
