Gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games

Gymnastics is one of the Commonwealth Games sports. Gymnastics on the Commonwealth Games program includes two disciplines, Artistic Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Artistic gymnastics is now a core sport, with rhythmic gymnastics optional.

Artisitic Gymnastics was first held at the Commonwealth Games as a demonstration sport in 1974, before being included in the main programme in 1978. After a break it reappeared in 1990 and artistic gymnastics has appeared at every games.

Rhythmic gymnastics made its debut on the Commonwealth Games program in 1994, and was included in every edition up until 2022, except for in 2002. It has been dropped for the 2026 Glasgow Games.
