There are several annual awards and professional competitions for rugby league players.
COMPETITIONS
- National Rugby League (NRL) — the professional men's rugby league teams in Australasia
- Women's National Rugby League (NRLW)
- State of Origin (men) — the annual competition between the Australian states of NSW and Queensland.
- Super League — the top-level professional rugby league club competition in the Northern hemisphere, mostly teams from England.
- State of Origin (women) — the annual match between the women's teams from the Australian states of NSW and Queensland.
AWARDS
- The Golden Boot award — a men's and women's award by the Rugby League World magazine (originally awarded by British magazine Open Rugby), for the players judged to be the best in the world. The voting panel is made up of former players and international rugby league journalists.
- Rugby League International Player Of The Year — The Rugby League International Federation (RLIF) presented this award from 2008 until 2014.
- Dally M Medal — presented annually to the player voted as the best and fairest throughout the Australian National Rugby League (NRL) season. There is an award for men and women.
