Uruguay at the Winter Olympics

Uruguay finally made its first-ever appearance at the Winter Games in 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games. However, the nation has been absent again since then.

Uruguay fielded just Gabriel Hottegindre at the Nagano Winter Games. Hottegindre competed in the men’s slalom event in alpine skiing and finished 24th place.

The South American nation already won 10 medals at the Summer Olympics up until 2016, but unfortunately the nation is still aiming to win its first-ever medal at the Winter Games.
