According to FIFA, for the 2018 World Cup, a total of 622,117 tickets were allocated in a first random draw sales phase from almost 3.5 million applications. International prices for the 2018 Russia tournament start at $105 while Russians can buy tickets from 1280 rubles ($22).
Almost 150,000 applications were for the opening match on June 14 involving the Russian team, and more than 300,000 for the July 15 final, both at to be held at Moscow’s Luzhniki stadium.
Further sales for Russia 2018 were available after the group draw. This round of ticket sales were also divided into random and first-come, first-served phases. The final stage is the last-minute sale which ran until the final.
In the first sales phase at past World Cups, there were 6.1 million applications for Brazil 2014, 1.6 million for South Africa 2010 and more than 10 million for Germany 2006.
