The 23rd FIFA World Cup in 2026 will be held jointly in Canada, USA and Mexico, the first time three countries will host the same World Cup. The tournament will run from June 11 to 19th July.

Tournament Information

• The 2026 World Cup will see the tournament expanded from 32 to 48 teams. There will be 12 groups of four in the group stage, increasing the total number of games from 64 to 104. The top 8 third-placed teams join the group winners and runners-up in a new round of 32. The tournament will last nearly six weeks.
• Argentina are the defending champions.
• Venues: There will be 16 venues at the 2026 World Cup. Games will be played in 11 USA cities, with three cities in Mexico and two Canadian cities.

Trivia

• Mexico will become the first country to host games in three World Cups.
• The final of the 1994 World Cup final was played at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, however another venue in the LA area, SoFi Stadium, was chosen instead to host games in 2026.
