Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) at the Winter Olympic Games
The nation attended the Winter Olympic Games for the first time in 1964 and has sent a total of 64 athletes at the Winter Games. Since then, the nation has missed just one edition of the Winter Games, in Lake Placid in 1980.
In 2006 and 2010, Taiwan sent only one Winter Olympic athlete, Ma Chih-hung, who competed in men's luge.
In 2014, the Chinese Taipei team sent three athletes that competed in luge, short track speed skating, and speed skating.
The Far East Asian nation is still hoping to win its first medal at the Winter Games.
Trivia
- Taiwan became the first country to boycott the Winter Games when they refused to change their name from the Republic of China, as the IOC tried to appease China in 1980.
