Educational Sports Institutions and Research Centres
Here is a list of sports universities and other educational institutions and faculties around the world which have a primary focus on sport services.
- United States Sports Academy - the largest graduate school of sport education in the world, and the only freestanding school of sport education in America.
- IMG Academy - a boarding school and sport training center in Bradenton, Florida, United States. The school offers an integrated academic and athletic prorgams in baseball, basketball, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track & field and cross country.
- China Institute of Sport Science (CISS) - a comprehensive non-profit research institute with multi-disciplines, managed by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China for public services.
- Beijing Sport University (BNU) — one of the most dedicated and leading sport universities, committed to physical fitness, and training of national sportsmen.
- Shanghai University of Sport (SUS), China - comprises schools and departments that offer bachelor and postgraduate programs, programs for adults and programs for overseas students, as well as one affiliated competitive sport school.
- Guangzhou Sports University, China - is the only higher education institution majoring in sports in South China. It was formerly known as the Guangzhou Physical Education Institute.
- Nippon Sport Science University, Tokyo, Japan
- National Taiwan Sport University (NTSU), Institute of Sport Science, Taoyuan, Taiwan. It is a university in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. Providing elite sports facilities, dedicated and experienced professionals, with curriculums in athletics, physical education and management.
- International Academy of Sport Science and Technology (French: Académie internationale des sciences et techniques du sport, AISTS), an education and sport research centre in Lausanne, Switzerland - focussing on offering sports management programs.
- Gdansk University of Physical Education and Sport, Poland - a sports university to gain qualifications in the fields of sport, physiotherapy, tourism and recreation.
- Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education, Poland - one of the largest Sport Academies in Poland.
- German Sport University Cologne, Germany - offering bachelor's and master's programs in the sport sciences, and internationally renowned for its research. The university offers five Bachelor's Degrees: Sport Management and Communication, Sport and Health in Prevention and Therapy, Sport and Performance, Sport, Adventure and Expressive Movement and Sport Journalism.
- Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE), Latvia - conducts internationally accredited study programs to train specialists to work in education, sport, state, municipal institutions
- Lithuanian Sport University, Lithuania - the only national institution specializing in sports education where studies, sports science, wellness and practical sports activity are combined.
- Siberian State University of Physical Education and Sports, Russia - offers bachelors' academic education, masters and PhD students of physical education and sports, sports science.
- National University of Physical Education and Sport in Ukraine.
- Sport and Exercise Science Research Centre (SESRC) at London South Bank University (LSBU). The centre acts as a research and enterprise hub for sport, exercise and nutrition sciences. It is a joint venture between LSBU's School of Applied Sciences and Academy of Sports.
- Applied Sports, Technology Exercise and Medicine Research Centre (A-STEM). Situated in facilities at the Swansea University Bay Campus. A-STEM staff conduct distinctive, cutting-edge research that is multidisciplinary with research focusing on Elite and Professional Sport and Exercise Medicine and Health. World leading research is conducted in a number of areas including anti doping and sports ethics, children's physical activity and exercise physiology.
