Saint Lucia attended their first Summer Olympic Games in 1996, and has sent a team for all Summer Olympics since then.
In the 2012 edition of the Olympics, Saint Lucia sent four athletes to take part in athletics, sailing and swimming.
In the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympic Games, Saint Lucia fielded five athletes in athletics, sailing and swimming. Levern Spencer came close to winning the country’s first-ever medal by placing sixth in the high jump event when she cleared the bar at a height of 1.93-m, while her teammate Jeanelle Scheper failed to advance into the final round.
In Tokyo, Levern Spencer was the country's sole representative in track and field, though she was not as successful this time around. There were also two sailors and two swimmers in the team.
The 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was the country's most successful, with sprinter Julien Alfred winning the women's 100 meters, and therefore the nation's first and only medal to date.
