Russia at the World Cup
Russia has participated at the Rugby World Cup twice, in 2011, where they finished without any wins, and also in 2019.
Trivia
- Russia was part of the Soviet Union in 1987, whose national team declined an invitation to the inaugural World Cup on political grounds.
- Russia competed in the 2019 World Cup in Japan by qualifying as Europe 1 as a result of Spain, Romania and Belgium being eliminated.
- Russia was banned from competing in 2023 as a result of their war against Ukraine
