As with all International 20 lists, it only includes athletes from outside of the USA, sorted by total earnings (salary, winnings, endorsements and appearance fees).
Tennis player Roger Federer has dropped to second after being on top for four straight years. Female tennis player Maria Sharopova is again in the top 10, this time at number 9. For the first time, two females are in the top 20, with another tennis player, Li Na at 17. See also the top 10 American athletes on the 2013 Fortunate 50 list.
