Sledge Hockey
Sledge hockey, also known as Para ice hockey, is the ice hockey for people with physical disabilities of the lower body. The sport started during the 1960s in a rehabilitation center at Stockholm, Sweden. This sport has become a major attraction and one of the most popular sports of the Paralympic Games.
The rules of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) is still followed on this sport but with little adjustments, mainly on the equipment being used.
Ice sledge hockey match First is the double-blade sledges. They are specially designed to allow the puck to pass beneath. Second is the two sticks used by players, the spike-end for pushing and the blade-end for shooting.
