Anguilla at the Olympics
Anguilla is an external territory of the United Kingdom, and therefore is not eligible to independently compete at the Olympic Games. That does not mean that athletes from Anguilla have not represented their territory on the world stage.
Keith Connor was born in Anguilla, and migrated with his parents to Great Britain in 1964. He went on to represent Great Britain as a track and field athlete mainly in the triple jump. He won a bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Athlete Shara Proctor is believed to have been born and brought up in Anguilla (though the sport-reference website lists her birthplace as nearby Christiansted, St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands) and competed for the island in two world championships. But to the International Olympic Committee Anguilla is a British dependent territory. As a British passport holder, she was able to transfer her allegiance to Great Britain, and as a member of the British team competed in the long jump at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.
