World Alternative Games
The World Alternative Games was first held in 2012, at the home of the World Bog Snorkeling championships in Llanwrtyd Wells, in Powys, Wales. It is the ultimate unusual sports event, not a normal sport in sight.
modern day chariot racersThe event was organized as an alternative to London hosting the Olympic Games the same year, and is expected to be organized every two years - the next one was scheduled for August 2014. The 2012 event consisted of about 35 different events, including:
- Man versus Horse Marathon
- World Bog Snorkeling Champs.
- Worm Charming
- Chariot Racing
- Bathtubbing Championship
- Wife Carrying Championships.
- Pooh Sticks
- Rock, Paper, Scissors
- French cockerel throwing competition
- French cheese rolling
- Underwater Hockey
