The 2007 Australian open was the 95 edition, held in Melbourne Australia, from January 15th to 28th. The singles titles were won by Roger Federer and Serena Williams.

- The Hawkeye Line Calling System was first officially used for matches in 2007.
- On the first day, around 150 Australian youths of Serbian, Croatian and Greek origins were ejected from the stadium after fighting with one another. The fight reportedly developed after fans taunted each other with nationalist slogans.
- Heat in excess of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) on the second day caused the Extreme Heat Policy to be implemented, with most daytime matches being delayed.
- Roger Federer claimed his third Australian Open crown, beating No.10 seed Fernando Gonzalez in three sets.
- Serena Williams became the first unseeded player in 29 years to win the Australian Open 2007 women's final, beating Russian No.1 seed Maria Sharapova.
- The world's leading doubles combination Bob and Mike Bryan, claimed their second Australian Open crown, beating Max Mirnyi and Jonas Bjorkman 7-5 7-5.
- Winners of the mixed doubles event were Daniel Nestor and Elena Likhovtseva, who were runners up in 2006.
- Australian Brydan Klein became the first local in 13 years to win the boys' singles title.
