Beeni - Asian Arm Wrestling
Beeni is a form of wrestling that is popular in Southern Asia, particularly Pakistan, and other places around the world with a large Pakistani population such as parts of the UK.
The sport is also called Asian arm wrestling, as it involves two fighters forming a special grip, where one competitor holds the other’s hand with his thumbs crossed tightly around the wrist. The opponent attempts to break free from their competitor’s hold, whilst the other grips on, refusing to loosen their clasp.
The matches are held over four rounds. The competitors have three chances to break the grip in each round, and points are awarded for breaking free or stopping the opponent from escaping.
Competitions are held for different weight classes.

- Kurash — folk wrestling style from Central Asia in which wrestlers use towels to hold their opponents, and their goal is to throw their opponents off the feet.
- Pehlwani — a form of wrestling from South Asia. A win is achieved by pinning the opponent's shoulders and hips to the ground simultaneously.
- Boli Khela — a form of wrestling that is practiced in Bangladesh and India.
- Arm Wrestling — a type of wrestling where each participant place one elbow on a surface while gripping the other participant's hand. The aim is to pin the other's arm onto the surface.
- Mas Wrestling — participants sit and face each other with their feet braced against a board and each with both hands on a stick. The aim is to pull the other player over to your side.
