What is your least favorite Summer Olympic Games sport?
There were many sports at the Olympic Games in London 2012 - what was your least favorite? This poll results have been archived as there have been changes to the Olympic sports list with rugby and golf added. You can now vote on your least favorite sport from the current Olympic sports list.
We also realized that our definition of sports is different to the IOC, and although synchronized swimming is listed here, it actually comes under the banner of swimming (aquatic sports), as does diving and water polo.
Results
Out of a total of 1307 votes, the least favorite sport was found to be equestrian with 23% of the votes, but that did not stop wrestling (only 2% here) being the actual sport dropped from the sports list for 2020. There were plenty of other sports ranked lower too.

- My least favorite is rhythmic gymnastics -a "sport" that didn't even make your list. Even though it can be organized as "competitive" and it requires skill, concentration and athleticism it is something I'd expect to see by street performers or in a theatrical production like Cirque du Soleil. - Yes, there a lot of lame sports in the Olympics. But the one that bothers me is boxing because of the referees. Now, I love boxing. But, I was so disgusted with the refs that I almost want to see the whole sport banned from the Olympics just so that the refs would take the blame, but of course I don't want to punish the athletes because most boxers will make peanuts as pros. - Have you ever seen professional baseball players? How can you say they have no athleticism? Fencing in my opinion should be kept but don't bash on baseball. Also speed walking, equestrian, synchronized swimming, and artistic gymnastics are all very dumb. And FYI baseball was removed due to its lack of global popularity. (from Nathan, Aug 2012)
- Equestrian hip hop dressage is the worst "sport" ever. First, the horses should be rewarded with medals, not the riders - it is unfair. Second - it is soooo boring. Third - I don't understand this sport, which is the worst :D (from lukas, Aug 2012)
- SPEED WALKING. ridiculous. I appreciate all athletes at this level of a stage, but speed walking? Speed walking a mile at 6 minutes 40 seconds, is that really impressive when track and field runners can run 4 minute miles? Need to add that to the poll. (from Olymp, Aug 2012)

- Whoever said fencing isn't a sport has obviously never tried it. "electronic equipment doesn't take away from the flexibility, strength, endurance, reflexes and concentration needed for this SPORT. Ever tried to stab someone with a sword while they're coming at you ready for blood? All the electric equipment does is tell the referee whether or not the blade made contact with the lamé. - Race Walking has got to be the most BS sport ever.
- Any "sport" in which an animal does your work should be out. Soccer should be out (they already have a world cup and euro so its pointless), Tennis and golf for the same reasons. Sailing is a joke, synchronized swimming as well. Competitive Pole Dancing takes for more athleticism than all those "sports". They should get rid of curling to, i mean come on! curling a sport!, the only time you'll see fat middle aged balding men wear a gold medal, totally shameful.(from Chester Rockwell, (Aug 2012)

- I am a huge fan of the Olympics. World class athletes competing. IMHO beach volleyball is the LAMEST Olympic event ever. I think it was created just for USA to get an easy medal to get. It's a recreational event for God sakes! What's next freebie toss??? Yea countries like Russia, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Greenland, Mongolia, and Finland got beautiful beaches so they can practice real hard tossing the volleyball around. Beach volleyball ...
