Here are the venues to be used for the Paris Olympic Games. While most of the events will be held across Paris and its metropolitan area, some will be hosted away from the city, and the surfing competition is being held 15,000km (9,320 miles) away from Paris.
In addition to existing sporting venues, there will be various temporary arenas and stands, with several being built around famous landmarks. The only permanent sports facility built for the Olympics is the Aquatics Center, host of the artistic swimming, water polo and diving events.
