Here are some trivia about the Asian Games, first held in 1949.

In 1994 at Hiroshima, Japan, it was the first time that the Games were held outside the capital city of the host country.
Bangkok Thailand has hosted the event four times, and on each occasion the closing of the games was on same day, December 20, and all were opened by Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Of all the countries to participate at the games, only Bhutan, Maldives and Timor-Leste (East Timor) are yet to win a single medal (current 2013).
2018 was the first time the Asian Games were co-hosted in two cities - the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, and Palembang, the capital of South Sumatra province.
Indonesian Aliqqa Novvery was only 9-year-old when she competed in skateboarding at the 2018 Asian Games, becoming the youngest competitor ever. At the same games, there was an 81-year-old bridge player Lee Hung Fong.
