Stické Tennis
Stické, also referred to by the name stické tennis, is an indoor racquet and ball based sport that was derived from lawn tennis in the late 19th century.
The sport is played on a court that is similar in shape to that of a lawn tennis court, but is smaller in dimensions measuring 78 feet in length and 27 feet in width, as opposed to a lawn tennis court, which measures 78 ft by 36 feet. The playing area is enclosed by walls on all the four sides. There is a net in the middle, which is of the same height as the ones used for lawn tennis. The racquet used is same as what is used for lawn tennis racquets, but the ball used are low pressure balls.
The game can be played in singles or doubles format. The game play consisting of serves and returns are exactly the same as what is used for lawn tennis. The only major difference in stické is that the ball can be bounced off of the walls and are still considered in-play. The scoring system too is similar to that of lawn tennis.
Stické is currently a dying sport with hardly a few people playing the sport.
