Randy Stoklos: Volleyball
Randy Stoklos (born: 13 December 1960) is a professional beach volleyball player. He made history by becoming the first player to earn $1,000,000 in beach volleyball. Stoklos won his first Manhattan Beach Open title in 1981. He graduated from Palisades High School where he teamed with Rici Lutyes, Dave Sanders and Steve Salmons. He played college volleyball at UCLA.
Greatest Sporting Achievements
Aside from being a four-time winner of the Manhattan Beach Open, Randy Stoklos won one U.S. Championship and Five World Championships with Sinjin Smith. He was named AVPs MVP four times during his career. Randy Stoklos was recognized as a part of the Greatest Team in the history of beach volleyball by the FIVB and was honored at an induction ceremony in Argentina in 2001. On 2008, Stoklos was inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Randy Stoklos have hands of sweet smooth butter. He was the master of the Kong block at the net. Stoklos passed the ball with laser-like precision. He is responsible for changing the dynamic of the sport with his athleticism and overpowering force at the net.
What You May Not Know
- Stoklos’ parents were originally from Poland.
- He has a twin sister named, Ronda.
- His father was unwilling to allow him to play beach volleyball in 1992. His father was a Pole who survived a German concentration camp noted in the LA Times as a “harsh old-country type” who was afraid his son would grow up to be lazy if he spent too much time at the beach.
- Although he already retired from professional competition, he still competes in local tournaments.
