A Super Bowl ring is given to each member of the winning team to commemorate their NFL Super Bowl victory. The rings are typically made of yellow or white gold with diamonds. They are specially crafted and usually include the team name, team logo and Super Bowl number (which is usually indicated in roman numerals).
The NFL pays for the rings, an expensive exercise as up to 150 rings are required for each winning team, at a cost of up to $5,000 a piece. The NFL Super Bowl Championship Ring is the ultimate prize ring for a professional football player.
