Real (Unusual) Sports
The list of unusual sports comprises mostly of unusual or novelty sporting events or traditional / local unusual sports that are only played occasionally or by a small number of people. On our complete list of sports, there are also many other sports that hold well organized competitions, and are played by many people around the world, that would very easily be categorized as weird or unusual. Here are a few of them.
Some of my favorites ..
- Bossaball — played on an inflatable court with trampolines on each side of the net
- Sepak Takraw — a popular sport in Asia which is like volleyball but players use the feet to kick the ball over the net.
- Muggle Quidditch — the sport created for the Harry Potter books.
- Kabaddi — a "raider" enters the opposite team's half to tag opponents without taking a breath.
- Road Bowling — look out cars, bowling along the roads of Ireland.
- Swamp Football — a new definition of getting bogged down in defense.
- Underwater Hockey
- Cup Stacking — a sport involving stacking of cups.
- Hornussen — the sport of Swiss farmers
- Boomerang Throwing
