The Greatest Taekwondo Athlete at the Olympic Games
Who is the greatest taekwondo athlete of all time based on Olympic Games performances? We have used a weighted total medal count of each male and female Taekwondo athlete from all modern Olympic Games to rank their overall performance, using data from all Olympics including the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Three athletes tie for the most successful all-time performing taekwondo athletes at the Olympic Games: Hwang Kyung-Seon (South Korea), Steven López (USA) and Hadi Saei (Iran), each with two golds and one bronze medal. There are another four athletes who have also won two golds, but no other medals. See the table below to see how other athletes ranked.
