Shaun Pollock: Cricket
Shaun Maclean Pollock (born July 16, 1973) is a former South African cricketer, an all-rounder who was active during the 1990s and 2000s. He was the captain of the South African cricket team from 2000 to 2003 and played for Africa XI, World XI, Dolphins and Warwickshire. Pollock made his Test debut on November 16, 1995 against England and his ODI debut on January 9, 1996 against England.
Greatest Sporting Achievements
Pollock became Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 2003. He is known to be the leading wicket taker among South Africans with over 400 Test wickets and 3,700 Test runs in 108 Test matches. He is the second South African to take 400 Test wickets and the 19th in the history of the game. He holds the 3rd highest career-best rating just right behind Richard Hadlee.

During his first professional cricketing years, he was slippery and aggressive but he was a very useful hard-hitting batsman.
