New Zealand are one of six nations to have appeared at all World Cup Tournaments. Their best performance is reaching the final in 2015 and 2019. Thay have also reached the semi-finals four times: 1975, 1979, 1992, 1999.

- New Zealand's first World Cup match played was on Jun 7, 1975 against East Africa at Edgbaston, Birmingham. In that match New Zealand beat East Africa by 181 Runs.
- The first tournament held in the Southern hemisphere was 1992, when it was co-hosted in Australia and New Zealand. Australia and New Zealand also co-hosted the 2015 event.
