The Kingdom of Lesotho has been represented in the Olympics since 1972. The Lesotho National Olympic Committee was established in 1971 and was recognized the year after. This enabled them to make their debut to the Summer Games that very same year.
Runner Motsapi Moorosi is Lesotho's sole representative to the 1972 Games and he ran the 100 and 200 meters but was not able to advance to the finals.
In 1976, most of the African nations boycotted the Summer Games which was held in Montreal, Canada and Lesotho was one of them. They did come back in 1980 and they have never passed on a single Summer Olympics since then.
Lesotho has never been seen in the Winter Games like most African countries and they are yet to win their first Olympic medal.
