The Last Desert is an ultra endurance race held in Antarctica, held every two years, and organized by RacingThePlanet.
The Last Desert was first raced in January 2006. This event is part of the annual 4 Deserts series, and is only open to individuals who have successfully completed at least two of the other '4 Deserts' events.
The course covers approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles) over several stages, with competitors running on snow, ice, and rocky terrain. The course takes participants through breathtaking Antarctic landscapes, including glaciers, icebergs, and vast expanses of snow, providing a unique and unforgettable racing experience.
Runners face extreme weather conditions, including sub-zero temperatures, strong winds, and potential blizzards, making it one of the most challenging races in the world.
