Floyd Landis

full name: Floyd Landis
bio: After a very successful junior mountain biking career, Landis turned pro in 1999. He is a strong climber and time trial specialist. In the 2005 Tour de France he finished ninth overall. 2006 was his breakthrough year, with wins in a couple of events. Most famously he was initially the winner of the 2006 Le Tour de France, but not long after the event he lost the title due to a drug scandal.

  • He attended public schools in the Conestoga Valley School District: Brownstown Elementary School, Conestoga Valley Middle School, and graduated in 1994 from Conestoga Valley High School.
  • He bought his first mountain bike at 15 and won the first mountain bike race he entered.
  • In 1995, he moved to California and became a full-time rider.
