Jacques Henry Kallis (born October 16, 1975) is a right-handed batsman, most recognized as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of cricket. He’s a South African right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium swing bowler. Kallis is the only cricketer in the history of the sport to score more than 12,000 runs and 250 wickets in both forms of the game. His test debut was in December 1995 versus England after the ban was lifted in 1992. He also made his One Day International debut in the same series against England. He was part of Western Province / Cape Cobras (1993-2014), Middlesex (1997), Glamorgan (1999), Royal Challengers Bangalore (2008-2010), Kolkata Knight Riders (2011-2014) and Sydney Thunder (2014). He retired from all forms of international cricket on July 30, 2014.
Greatest Sporting Achievements
Kallis became the Leading Cricketer in the World in 2008, awarded ICC Test Player of the Year in 2007 and ICC Player of the Year in 2005. On January 2013, he became the fourth cricketer and first South African player to score 13,000 Test runs during the opening day of the first Test against New Zealand.
