Ice Hockey Miracle on Ice

If you think Winter Olympics and Ice Hockey, it comes down to the so-called ‘Miracle on Ice’ from the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, when the USA team made up of amateur and collegiate players upset the favorites USSR in a medal round match, and subsequently went on to win the gold medal.

Cool Running Jamaican Bobsled Team

Video of the original Jamaican Bobsled team, from the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary Canada, that inspired the movie ‘Cool Runnings’ can’t be shown here. This trailer of the movie is much more entertaining anyway. In the movie they show the original footage of when they crashed, but many other parts of the true story have been changed or embellished for the movie.

Some amateur film footage from the Winter Olympic Games in Squaw Valley in 1960. Not the original soundtrack (I don’t think Enya was around then), but great to see what the crowd would see. Not the fanfare that you will get these days.
