The Issue with Camel Jumping

The camel jumpers in Yemen look impressive, though the ramp up to the take-off point gives them a good lift. It would be interesting to see how they would go doing a standard long jump, or for a long jumper or high jumper to have a go at camel jumping!

They usually jump between 4 to 6 camels, though the hight of the ramp and the height of the camel would obviously vary, and they also sometimes have saddles on the camels, so standardization is an issue. A new Olympic sport? There are a few things to sort out first, and sourcing a standard set of camels would be the first thing. See more about Camel Jumping.

See Eric D. Spoto “Vanilla Gorilla” beaking the raw bench press record with a lift of 722lbs (327.5 kg) . The previous record was 715 lbs by Scot Mendelson. See more about the Bench Press world best scores. Raw bench pressing is done without equipment such as bench shirts. Using such aids there have been lifts above 1000 lbs. I was curious and had to look up what he was sniffing in the video before the lift – and the answer is smelling salts.
EDIT: This record has now been broken by Russian Kirill Sarychev. He lifted 335 kg (738.5lbs) on November 22, 2015.

This guy is not doing a standard vertical jump test, but has awesome leg power and pretty good technique to get up on that stack of weights. Don’t try this at home children.

The Indo Board is great for improving your balance, particularly if you are a surfer. As one commenter said, a piece of wood and pvc pipe could also do the trick, but it would not look as good. 24 hr Push Up World Record

A Push Up World Record attempt by Charles Servizio on April 24-25, 1993. He broke the record with 46,001 Push-Ups in 24 Hours (he stopped at 21 hrs 21 minutes). There is a nice split screen effect with some footage of him performing at 6x speed.
