The IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) diet gets you to count your macro-nutrients (macros) rather than counting kilojoules.
How It Works
This is not an easy diet to follow yourself. It requires you to use the IIFYM Online calculator including answering questions related to your weight management plans. From that it works out your daily macro needs and sends you the details. You then monitor your daily intake of protein, carbohydrate and fat in grams coming from food and drinks. Depending on your weight loss goals, the diet may or may not include a daily kilojoule restriction to assist losing weight.
Fad or Credible?
There is no research specifically testing the IIFYM diet.
