Robert Jeffrey Harvey (born 21 August 1971) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League. He is recognized as one of the league’s best midfielders of the modern era, even listed as one of the top 50 players of all time. From 1988 to 2008, Harvey scored a total of 215 goals of 385 games for St Kilda. He coached several clubs after retiring including Carlton Football Club. He returned to St Kilda as assistant coach on 2011 and in later joined Collingwood Football Club as Midfield Coach then promoted to Senior Assistant Coach until this day.
Greatest Sporting Achievements
Robert Harvey won several individual awards and medals during his playing career including two Brownlow Medals, one Leigh Matthews Trophy, Madden Medal, Michael Tuck Medal, as well as St Kilda’s best and fairest four times. He was also named Herald Sun Player of the Year award in 1997 and became part of the All-Australian Team eight times. He played three pre-season premierships and was a representative for the E.J. Whitten Medal three times. In 2012, Robert Harvey was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame and in 2013; he was named AFL’s Assistant Coach of the Year.

- Robert Harvey is the grandson of former Australian test cricketer Merv Harvey and grandnephew of Neil Harvey who became Australia’s leading run scorer and century-maker behind Don Bradman.
- He married Danielle, who appeared on Fox Footy’s “Living with Footballers”. They have three children, Connor, Remi and Alyssa.
- Harvey’s younger brother, Anthony, also played four games for St Kilda and later became captain for Norwood during the 1997 SANFL premiership.
