Arena Football

Arena football is an indoor game version of American Football that is played on a smaller field. It’s quite faster yet higher-scoring sport. It was invented in 1981 and patented by James F. Foster, Jr. in 1987. Its playing arena is designed just like basketball or ice hockey with dimensions standard to a National Hockey League hockey rink (85 feet width and 200 feet length).

Arena Football is actually a proprietary game in which each team can place its eight players from a 20-man active roster at a time. Arena Football League is the governing body of this sport. Also known as indoor football and Gridiron football.

Arena Football is not the only variant of indoor American football, though it is the most widely known, and from this variation most other forms of modern indoor football are at least partially based.
