Finland at the Winter Olympic Games

Finland made its debut at the Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix, France in 1924 and has participated at all Winter Olympics since then. Finland has strongly stamped its mark at the Winter Games and most of its medals came from nordic skiing events.



Finland’s National Olympic Committee is the Finnish Olympic Committee, and was started in 1907, when Finland was still autonomous part and referred to as the Grand Duchy of Finland of the Russian Empire (up to 1917).

The nation is strong in cross-country skiing, ski jumping speed skating and Nordic combined.
