The Dominican Republic at the Baseball World Cup / World Classic
- In 2006, the Dominican Republic team made it through to the semifinals, where they were beaten by Cuba.
- The final of the 2013 World Classic was played between Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic with the Dominican Republic winning 3–0. The Dominican Republic team went undefeated throughout the tournament. Robinson Canó was named the Most Valuable Player. Canó was born in the Dominican Republic, and currently plays as a second baseman for the New York Yankees.
