The Copa América is the international championships contested among national teams from South America. The tournament is made up of the 10 South American CONMEBOL nations, plus occasionally two teams from non-CONMEBOL countries.
Canada has played in the Copa America tournament only once, in 2024.
In 2024, Canada made it to the semi-finals, though lost to Argentina. Canada played Uruguay in the third place match playoff. After regulation time the score was tied at 2 goal each. In the penalty shootout, Canada lost 3-4.
Trivia
- Canada was also invited to the 2001 Copa América, but withdrew because of security concerns.
