Australian Boxers at the Olympics

Only one athlete has competed in three sports at the Olympic Games. Reginald “Snowy” Baker competed in Diving, Boxing and Swimming all in 1908 in London.
Welterweight Kevin Hogarth was the first Australian boxer to win an Olympic medal. He won bronze at the 1956 Games in Melbourne.
In 1960, light heavyweight Anthony Madigan was beaten in his semi-final by Cassius Clay, who would change his name to Muhammad Ali three years later.
At Tokyo 2020, boxer Harry Garside became the first Australian since 1988 to win a medal at the Olympics. He won the bronze in the men's lightweight event.
