Australian Boxers at the Olympics
- Only one athlete has competed in three sports at the Olympic Games. Reginald “Snowy” Baker competed in
Diving,
Boxing and
Swimming all in 1908 in London.
- Welterweight Kevin Hogarth was the first Australian boxer to win an Olympic medal. He won bronze at the 1956 Games in Melbourne.
- In 1960, light heavyweight Anthony Madigan was beaten in his semi-final by Cassius Clay, who would change his name to Muhammad Ali three years later.
- At Tokyo 2020, boxer Harry Garside became the first Australian since 1988 to win a medal at the Olympics. He won the bronze in the men's lightweight event.
