Lorenzo Bernardi (born 11 August 1968) is a former Italian volleyball player and coach. He is perhaps one of the best volleyball players ever to play volleyball by using his skills to help Italy’s success. Lorenzo Bernardi first started as a setter before changing to become a dominating hitter and passer.
Greatest Sporting Achievements
Bernardi helped Italy win two European Champion in 1989 and 1995, World Championship in 1990 and 1994, two silver medals of the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 and five gold medals for FIVB World League.
In 1994 and 1995, he was elected best player for World Championship and European Champion respectively.
Lorenzo Bernardi was declared “Volleyball Player of the Century” in 2001.

- His first cap with the Italian national volleyball team was on 27 May 1987.
- In 2004, Lorenzo also played for Qatar, Greece and Olympiakos SC but returned to Italy a year later.
- Lorenzo Bernardi took over the head coach position of the Polish club in 2010-2011 season which led them to a fourth place finish in the CEV Champions League.
