A 60 m sprint race was featured at the Olympic Games in 1900 and 1904. It was an event for men only. At the 1904 Summer Olympics there was also a 60-yard (54.8m) dash handicap race (which is not considered part of the Olympic program).
The shortest sprint race now on the program is the 100m sprint. The 60 meters is now a common event in indoor track and field competitions.
