Whether they like it or not, most of today's sports stars are automatically seen as role models when they reach the pinnacle of their sport, irrespective of their behaviors. There are plenty of examples of these stars not acting as appropriate role models, particularly for the young fans. they are seen as heroes in each of their sports and are looked up to by others who do that sport. This means they are role models and I believe they are very good for children as it gives them a sporting hero to look up to. - Geoffrey lenard (2013)
