The 2023 Tour de France, the 110th edition of the prestigious race, featured 21 stages and covered a total distance of approximately 3,404 kilometers (2,115 miles). It was held from Saturday, 1 July 2023 to Sunday, 23 July 2023. The race began in Bilbao, Spain, the most populous city in the Basque Country, and concluded as usual in Paris on the Champs-Élysées.

Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard of Team Jumbo-Visma won, securing his second consecutive victory. Vingegaard took the yellow jersey after a dominant performance in the individual time trial on Stage 16, significantly increasing his lead over his closest rival, Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates. . He finished the race with a commanding lead of 7 minutes and 29 seconds ahead of Pogačar, who finished second, while British cyclist Adam Yates of UAE Team Emirates secured third place.

The 2023 Tour was notable for the fierce rivalry between Vingegaard and Pogačar, with both riders frequently challenging each other in the mountains. However, Pogačar's struggles in the later stages, particularly in the Alps, allowed Vingegaard to establish an unassailable lead.

The race also featured impressive performances from other riders. Jasper Philipsen of Belgium dominated the sprints, winning four stages and securing the green jersey for the points classification. Italian rider Giulio Ciccone won the polka dot jersey for the King of the Mountains, showcasing his climbing prowess throughout the race. The white jersey for the best young rider went to Tadej Pogačar, marking his fourth consecutive win in this category.
