The 2019 Netball World Cup was held in Liverpool, England, between 12-21 July, 2019. It was the 15th staging of the championships, and the third time England had hosted the event. As always, Australia and New Zealand went into the tournament as favorites, and not surprisingly played out the grand final, with New Zealand victorious for the fifth time in the tournament. New Zealand defeated Australia by one goal, 52-51. England finished in third place, after defeating South Africa.
All matches were played at the M&S Arena in Liverpool, England, with two courts in use at the venue throughout the competition. The first stage of the competition had the 16 teams divided into four groups of four. The top three teams in each group progressed to the second stage, forming two groups, from which the top two teams qualified for the semi-finals.
