The 1991 Super Bowl, officially known as Super Bowl XXV, was played on January 27, 1991 at Tampa Stadium in Tampa, Florida. This game saw the New York Giants defeat the Buffalo Bills by a score of 20-19.
The Giants came from behind in the second half, with running back Ottis Anderson rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown to earn the MVP award. New York's defense was also strong, holding the Bills to just 19 points and forcing two turnovers.
Kicker Scott Norwood famously missed wide right on a 47-yard field goal in the final seconds.
This was the second Super Bowl win for the New York Giants.
The 1991 Super Bowl was also notable for being the first to feature Whitney Houston's iconic performance of the National Anthem, which became one of the most famous renditions in Super Bowl history.
