The 1969 Super Bowl, officially known as Super Bowl III, was played on January 12, 1969 at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. This historic game saw the New York Jets, led by quarterback Joe Namath, defeat the heavily favored Baltimore Colts by a score of 16-7.
This was the first Super Bowl win for the Jets and cemented Namath's legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
